Begain his retail career with Carter Hawley Hale department store group in San Francisco; he was appointed Department Sales Manager at 22 years of age.
In 1988, he left his hometown San Francisco for Hong Kong, where he worked for American Express. Has held senior management positions in both local and multi-national groups such as Seibu Department Stores, Etienne Aigner, G2000 Group, The Body Shop, Oregon Scentific and American fashion brand, Ecko Unltd.
Roy graduated from University of California, Berkeley.
